If Americans do know about them, it's probably through their propaganda arm in Shen Yun or through the heavily biased Wikipedia article. There are a large number of uncited claims there that paint them as persecuted due to being anti-Communist. Surprise, surprise, Wikipedia editors leave it up with a [citation needed] tag.
