Most of them make you play as a dude who shoots dinosaurs instead of a dinosaur that tears up dudes :angery:
The Lost World: Jurassic Park PS1 platformer wasn't great but at least the dinosaur levels let you munch on all the armed goons you wanted
There are like three dinosaur fightig games and two of them are claymation.
Assuming the clay is plasticine vased there is a small chance those plastic dinodaurs were made out of petrochemical that once came from real dinosaurs. Thus once again in the immitation there is still an element of the real
The lore behind those Primal Rage games is wild. It's typical fighting game drama, but the fact that the characters are all giant dinosaur gods makes it more fun.
Related maybe, but I had an idea before for a video game that's something like an asymmetric humans vs kaiju battle, where one person plays the monster destroying a city, and then a team of people need to work together to take that person down, and have access to various weapons. Seems like it would be fun, and would probably be even better in VR.
Sounds like Evolve (2015), I never played it but it seemed interesting. I think it flopped for monetization reasons though.
I remember there being a multiplayer shooty game on steam where you could play as dinosaurs, a la special infected in left 4 dead pvp. I never got around to trying it out but it looked very fun, being able to run around as a T-Rex and eat people shooting at you.
At least there's mods for Ark Survival Evolved that let you play as the dinosaurs, but the game is uh
not balanced for that kind of play. Or for enjoying playing it in general tbh
I remember there being a multiplayer mode in conkers bad fur day that was raptors versus cavemen that was fun as hell to play as the raptor, you could chomp all the little dudes
There was a janky AvP game from 2010 that I adored. It felt pretty out of date when it came out, but playing as the aliens was something special.
I recommend AVP2 from 2001, the Alien campaign is pretty fun (The Predator one is fun too)
I remember the demo of that game, playing as the aliens really was very cool
this could all be avoided by buying into the idea that dinosaurs never existed
It’s supposedly very loosely inspired by the writings of a Japanese Christian cult
Trespasser's weird arm articulation would actually work pretty well on a dinosaur craning it's neck.
Or any sort of animal simulator for that matter. Tons of animals basically use their head as a hand.
Idk the name, but there was an arcade game I played once at a bowling alley, it started you off as a wimpy herbivore Dino and you eat enough plants while not getting eaten and you start evolving into better and more badass predator Dino’s. Iirc the final level was you trying to survive early humans (ahistoric I know stfu)
Turok 2 ok N64 let you play as a raptor in split screen deathwatch, so you could run around super fast and disembowel your friends while they tried to shoot you with guns.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park PS1 platformer wasn’t great but at least the dinosaur levels let you munch on all the armed goons you wanted
Not sure I ever got past the initial compy level. Still loved the fact I was a dinosaur and dreamed of the day I could play as T-Rex themselves. Though I never got there.
I never beat any of the different roles you could play, but thanks to codes could play the initial level of any of the dinosaurs. Slicing open guards as a velociraptor or eating them whole as a t-rex was a childhood highlight
Class based multiplayer CTF game where the classes are different dinos. T Rex is a jack of all trades, Triceratops is a pure tank. Pterodactyl is fast and mobile, Velociraptor is a glass cannon. No humans, get them the fuck out of here - dino on dino team battles is where it's at baby.
