NATO nations have been running extra drills with focus on anti-sub activities in the Baltic the past two weeks also, with nearly hourly patrols of Russia’s Baltic fleet. It is not subtle at all who did this. If Russia wanted the gas to Europe shut off it can flip a switch, blowing up the pipeline isn’t really necessary
It would be more embarrassing if Russia managed it during a NATO exercise specifically designed to stop that.
