Well yeah but with the water shortages we'd be forced off of meat by then anyway, so I don't consider that "preparation" on an individual level, unless you mean development of vegan industry in which case you're right that's important prep.
I consider setting up a farming supply chain a form of industry.
When I mean personal veganism I mean consumer choices. Which would make transitioning to them easier over time than being forced to when shortages occur, but isn't really preparation.
'Veganism' most often refers to individual choices and not industry change though, so that's why I interpreted it that way. Industry change is a slow consequence of it of course.
