I just made a bandcamp for some weird electronic stuff I've been experimenting with (there's guitar too) . You guys are probably the only people that will hear it

fuck dude. that 2:48 riff in Diadem of Wound can keep going if it wants to, it'd keep me from having to rewind like ten times.

Recorded a space-doom scribble just now, could use some feedback on where to take it. I think it's got legs if I can do something more interesting with the drums and the synth.

I think there's some interesting potential here for a slow burn of a song, maybe with a cascade of building instruments or a lonely, raw vocal telling a story. I'd like to hear what would happen if you really lean into some of the long-term movement with some swells and recessions.

Nice, I'll see what I can do in that direction! Appreciate it.

i sorta like it as-is but im into brooding ambient stuff. maybe more delay/reverb on the guitar so it sounds extra desolate and hopeless?

Oh man, the guitar doesn't have any reverb on it right now. I should do that!

edit: wait it totally did. oh well, more can't hurt!

Hey y’all I came out with this like 2 years ago but never really did anything with it. I was too self conscious of it to share with friends and family and really had no luck promoting it. I’ve been listening to it tonight. With the amount of time between when I released it and now, I feel actually pretty proud of it but bummed I wasn’t more serious about promoting it. But then again ‘promoting’ is a fuckin bullshit rat race so whatever lol. Let me know what you think:

Hey! You're on the front page! This is great. I'm glad I found it. Leutra's Sack is my favourite track. Like if early eels was produced by dave fridmann.

Are you still working on music? Would love to hear more :penguin-dance:

I know it’s insane! I’m really grateful. I’m still working on music. In fact, I’ve been working on a couple of songs with @Interloper I think our collab stuff is pretty cool but in progress. I’m going to try to release more new stuff, probably just as singles. Any releases will come out on my Bandcamp/Spotify/ SoundCloud etc.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen!! I fuck with the eels. Love electro shock blues. And any band that is associated with the paradigm shifting cultural event known as shrek is legendary in my books.

Is this thread still alive? My band announced the split, date’s set, first song’s released, and it’s the first weird one the drummer and I wrote.

    It was a fun song

this is very cool. favorite tracks: kombat and u never know whos listening. that impossible to chew gristly bass in u never know whos listening is really good. i do kinda want to hear you spit some kind of distorted bar over a vacuous beat break in the middle of each of them though.

I need to create an anon soundcloud so I can somewhat not burn my chapo account. I'm trying to keep this separate aside from IPs.

I wish my pinky wasn't fucked so I could play more music.

I had posted on the classical guitar sub about it asking for advice to exercise it. Everyone said to go to a doctor. one dude said "you need to use it or it wont get better" so I did that and it got better almost instantly. Weird.

It worked out well because I had brought my telecaster to a luthier to get set up and it cost as much as I paid for it 10 years ago. I brought it home and it was buzzing like crazy so I brought it back and second time was the charm and it plays better than it ever has plus my pinky feels good. It only took a month of driving 30 minutes out of my way because my area is devoid of music and art and has no real technicians except for a psychologist that moonlights as a luthier.

Oh wow, maybe it just needed some extra bloodflow or something to finish the healing process, that's really great to hear though! I'm just getting over a two week tendonitis bout in my fretting arm. I've been doing some stretches I saw in a youtube video and it's seemed to speed things along.

Feel ya on the setup woes. The good luthier around here is like 40 minutes away and closes up shop like 4 hours before i normally wake up. My LP needs its fretts leveled desperately.

Very glad it sounds like your guitar woes are in the rearview for now 🎸 :heart-sickle:

Tendonitis is the worst. I have somewhat chronic tendonitis in my left wrist from bad form from when I was younger so now I yell at people to keep their wrist straight.

Ahh I wish I'd had you yelling at me like three weeks ago. It's the first time I've dealt with it. Hadn't played much in a month or so but then got really motivated and started practicing some exercises for hours on end for a few days in a row and just really over did it andmust have been playing with my wrist really bent from the way I was sitting at my monitor. On the bright side it's taught me I've probably been using slop form at least half the time for years and years and now I'm practicing in front of a mirror and seeing so many potential avenues of improvement.
