    r/politics thread

The top comments are what you might expect but there are people critical of her...

She locked up tons of people for weed and joked about smoking because she’s Jamaican on a talk show. I really don’t like her.

A weird number of people saying that they're fine with people smoking weed but you should be jailed for selling it which is a super :jesse-wtf: take

Consumer-brain. They don't want something to stop them using it but they want to keep drug dealers far away from them. I guess like weed NIMBYism.

Liberal chorus: "We want our illicit treats! We can't help it if it's illegal here! But it is so - alas - the drug dealers must be punished to set an example!"

For weed? I understand that form of decriminalization of possession for shit like cocaine, heroin, etc, but for weed? Makes no sense. It's easier to grow weed than most plants. It's not like you need a chemistry degree or to rely on growing operations run by the CIA in Latin America to produce weed.

Also weed is way less harmful than hard drugs, and less harmful than shit that's already legal like alcohol and cigarettes. Why would you arrest people selling that?

          That's the whole point honestly
