I have no idea what the fuck is going on in the world and I get along just fine. I'm already well aware that everything is bad everywhere all of the time, I don't need a reminder.

4 issues a year for Jacobin is crazyyy plus its 20 bucks so def not going for it. I just read the article on the Iran protests in Democracy Now (https://www.democracynow.org/2022/10/13/iran_mahsa_amini_islamic_republic_protests) and they don't mention the color rev potential especially with the US announcing new sanctions against Iran under the pretext of the protests pretty obviously because Iran is anti-Israel and has strong ties with China. And then Musk activating Starlink in Iran under the same pretext, definitely for the same or similar actual reasons. AlJazeera is hit or miss. I'm gonna try out CGTN.

Yeah over the years DemocracNow has sloooowly gone ever so mainstream in their coverage. They have excellent coverage of US domestic affairs, but yeah their foreign affairs leave something to be desired (Americans, amirite?)

And yeah AlJazeera has great journalism but is almost openly anti-communist/leftist in their coverage, it being owned/operated by a literal modern day Kingdom and all.

CGTN I haven't been listening to for very long but it's surprisingly good. They have very good interviews and segments mostly in English. The only thing that is a bit jarring are the not-so-occasional english dub-overs but their coverage of events seems to be on point, and it's nice to get the other side of the story when dealing with China and their affairs.

TeleSur is so fucking cool, I really appreciate what they do. They're consistently reporting stuff in LatAm that is completely ignored by the majority of news.

This is awesome. Most of the left sites I read stick to their own tendency's particular internet ecosystem, so it's nice to have such a broad array of sources.

Democracy Now has a really solid daily news report

    https://www.youtube.com/c/DemocracyNow

Associated Press is nonprofit and cooperatively owned

    https://apnews.com/

More Perfect Union covers labor union news

    https://twitter.com/MorePerfectUS

There's a few channels that I watch on twitch for news coverage, mainly Hasan.

The apnews site has some liberal articles but also some of the articles are nearly identical to the DRPK state news. If you just want DPRK news straight from the horse's mouth, then look at official DPRK news sites.

This is the DPRK state owned news website.
        http://www.kcna.kp/en

This is the DPRK foreign affairs government site, you have to change the dropdown to english

The English dropdown thing isn't working for me, I'll try it later. AP news is okay. My lib teacher loves it.

Hasan is okay. Sometimes he gets too lib-ish with his takes on electoralism, the DPRK, China, and so on.

That's not even true. He cares about electoralism somewhat. As for China, he sides with China over the US like 95% of the time. As for DPRK, he talked with the blowback podcast guys on his show.

I haven't seen the blowback collab. He denies that China is socialist or pursuing socialism but yes he does side with them over the US usually.

I only see a clip from over 2 years ago where he say that he didn't believe that China was pursuing socialism. This was before the covid 19 pandemic. I think that the way that China handled the covid 19 pandemic greatly influenced his view of China, as it did for many other people. While the US was at the peak covid 19 lockdowns, Hasan would bring up that China has open waterparks because China dealt with covid correctly in the beginning and consequently didn't have to lock down as the US did.

I don't think Hasan still believes that China isn't pursuing socialism. He regularly praises China and defends the side of China when it is in the news.

Just watched the colab (youtube.com/watch?v=xBBnUx7KMZQ). He doesn't concede the DPRK deserves support. He only says it's the US's fault they're in their current state (which I suppose is a good start). When the person from Blowback starts praising Kim Il Sung Hasan says "he had some fail sons", memeing but essentially saying he thinks both Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un were bad fr.

Just scrolled through Monthly Review and found this is it real fr or nah? https://mronline.org/2022/10/12/exposed-before-ukraine-blew-up-kerch-bridge-british-spies-plotted-it/ . Your reply also mentioning Grayzone suggests it is. I've been out of the loop for a while. Edit: Just checked out Mango Press it looks awesome.
