the bill would finally get rid of Daylight Savings Time. everyone was on board, and then the Democrats just didn't do anything about it.

Good, permanent summer time would be horrible. If we want to get rid of DST, we need to get rid of it properly by making non-summer time permanent.

agree to disagree, I suppose. I would much rather have the sun rise at 7 and set at 5 than rise at 6 and set at 4.

I don't know how you plan on changing the Earth's axial tilt to accomplish that, but you can go ahead and try if you really want.

DST doesn't control how long the sun is out. Changing it won't give you any extra sunlight.

Do you not understand people working day shifts at set hours and that those hours don't change with the clocks

Yes but I can’t change when work hours are, businesses are open, or people want to do things. And I’d rather have more sunlight after work.

It does mean that, from our perspective, daylight appears to extend later in the day, though? That's the point?

The extra sunlight comes from the time the sun is up but you're sleeping. It's there for the experiencing.

Yes, I'm aware. But I'd like to come out of work and not have 15 minutes of sunlight left, and that's not something that comes down to my own choices

Yeah but the clocks control when I do my activities more than the sun does

:marx-joker: hmm i wonder why that is

I want that sunlight to be after I get off work

i sleep through the day and work at night so I forgot this was a problem for people tbh :biblically-accurate-kitty:

Go to sleep earlier, get up earlier. Relative to the sun those would actually be at the same time anyway. Yes capitalism affects when you can do such things based on work schedule, but that's what needs to change, not the clocks.

Yeah let's just hit the "change capitalism" button, because that's so much easier

Right, you should get to wake up to the sunrise, even in the winter.
