Given the ascending pile of sorting mechanisms at play here (Phone/computer ownership, internet access, english-speaking twitter, political english-speaking twitter, this specific guy) that pretty much ensure an audience of mostly comfortable imperial core dwellers, I'm actually pleasantly surprised that over one third of respondents are this cool. I would have guessed the ratio to be much worse.

While true, as someone that lives in it, this is

      incredibly infuriating

      to be polite

Like I know it's this bad, it's just a constant reminder that damn near everybody sucks ass

Yeah... I can't really deny that my first and primary reaction to this is still :rust-darkness::rust-darkness::rust-darkness:

I see this as an anarchist and I’m immediately aware clowns like that would sell us all out to fash the moment a vote didn’t go their way in an org.

Anarchism has a low barrier to entry and is inclusive. That’s good, but it also results in a lot of unserious noise throwing an :anarchy-a-white: on themselves.

I would consider anyone with these kinds of opinions about as anarchist as an AnCap. They’ve adapted aesthetics, but haven’t dropped their liberalism.

Anarchism shouldn’t be a daycare center for wayward liberals.

I honestly wonder how much actual theory any of the online "Tankies are worse than fascists" anarchists have, and how much if anything they actually know about history. They seem extremely bent out of shape by things that happened a century ago in countries that don't exist anymore.

As per usual, I would like to just say that is not representative of the anarchists on this left unity site. :left-unity-3:

Can confirm, am anarchist on this left unity site. That’s not how I feel at all.

conservatives will throw a fit when you call them a fascist, and liberals will throw a fit when you say they're the same as conservatives, and then they end up like this anyway. I wish they'd just stop with the bullshitting and pledge allegiance to the reich already, it's exhausting

What is it with Anarchists who were born after the fall of the Soviet Union basing all their politics on inter-leftist battles from a century ago? Like guys seriously everyone involved in those fights is not only dead, but has been dead several times longer than you've been alive.

Western leftists in general frequently fail to extend their understanding of politics beyond branding, self-actualization, and team sports thinking. They retain a lot of the liberalism they grew up with. This applies to all general flavors of leftist and is also about leftist flavors, where Western leftists are more concerned about which overly long Starbucks drink-esque subdivision of left you are than whether you can work together to build power.

An Anarchists that is pissed about a betrayal at Kronstad or whatever is just as ludicrous as a ML that is angry at SocDems for murdering Rosa. Sure, try to learn some lessons from it and with a good amount of contextualization, but we don't live in those conditions anymore and you're just LARPing by getting angry at another Wisconsinite corn-fed white guy over what some Europeans did to each other generations before you were alive. Because they're your sports teams, lol.

This also applies more generally to Western leftist infighting. Sometimes it's all in good fun jokes and such, sometimes it's losers taking it incredibly seriously and hating each other over supposed political identities that they probably can't articulate.

Idk, getting mad at Rosa getting murdered seems like a reasonable thing...

Difference is whether one gets angry at current succdems/Demsocs because of it

I honestly wonder. I haven't met any "Tankies are worse than fascists!" Anarchists in real life. I kind of assume it's an extremely online thing or a troll thing.

90% of all online "anarchists" are just average teenage liberals. They have nothing to do with actual anarchists, who don't have time for that kind of bs because they're too busy beating up nazis or building barricades to save their squat from eviction attempts by the cops.

    In fairness:

As of this comment, ☭ has 49%. Not a fan of how close these results are and I'm kinda surprised they're this close considering TJ's audience are probably mostly libs and lefties...at least, I thought that was the case.

That was on the 20th, so I'm guessing some reactionary or fash space linked it (especially judging by the comments which are filled with :sus-deep: accounts).

Still 50-63 percent too high I know I know, but given this is the imperial core we're dealing with, it fills me with some hope.

People on the internet thinking they can just click a radio button to change the government is half the fucking problem.

All of these people are losers. Twitter is for losers.
