Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Iran raises the Red Banner of Retaliation over the dome of Jamkaran Mosque in Qom city, which amounts to a declaration of war.

What caused the raising of the Red Banner is yet to be said. The last time the Red Banner was raised was when Qasem Suleimani was assassinated in 2020.

Meanwhile, several media outlets are reporting that Iran may start a military operation against Saudi Arabia in the next few hours.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Saudi Arabia has shared intelligence with the US and warned of an imminent Iranian attack on targets in the kingdom, leading to increased military readiness by the US and other militaries in the Middle East.

Watch, just watch these liberal scum in the west turn Saudi Arabia into the great democratic bastion of the Middle East, watch how shameless these motherfuckers get

Liberals trying to work out who's the Good Guy and who's the Bad Guy if Iran attacks Saudi Arabia will be extra funny given SA's recent snub of America and "siding with Russia" by protecting their profits (and perhaps causing the Dems to lose the midterms)

gotta be a little awkward for Russia though. hate it when your friends start fighting

Not to mention the whole Khashoggi bonesaw thing. Oh, and 9/11. Saudi Arabia's reputation is deep in the toilet. They've got all the money in the world so they have powerful partners in elite government and business circles, but that is about it. If the western elite is going to support Saudi Arabia, they are going to do it the same way they do against Yemen. Shipping weapons and sharing intelligence in complete silence. Any public support is a shit sandwich for them. They can't even spin it, so they wont.

For liberals, it is a deeply patriarchal backwards theocratic monarchy. As much as they dislike Iran, the amount of grievances which can be cited against SA by your average r/Politics fart huffing liberal is an order of magnitude longer. For chuds, it brings us back to the Ron Paul days moaning about being the world police and squandering "blood and treasure" for the sake of nation building. They are simple minded people interested only in simple solutions, like "turning the desert into glass." The only constituency for a war with Iran, partucularly on SA's behalf, is a minuscule sliver of elite John Bolton type freaks.

Biden is finally punishing the KSA for not lowering oil prices and helping Biden's midterms.
