Can't make up for the crimes against humanity, but at least he's trying
That's the same guy who directed home alone and the first two Harry potters
The two best Harry Potter movies. They were actually trying to give off a sense of wonder and magic, how it would actually feel if you were a neglected kid all your life, but are suddenly put into a magical world, while the rest of them were just some Hollywood shite.
The first one having that sense of magical wonderment is why Wizard People, Dear Reader works so well. And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, please enjoy https://vimeo.com/492873316
That first four minutes alone was solid. Passing it along to my Potter-pilled sister.
They were actually trying to give off a sense of wonder and magic
On a fairly low budget, to boot.
best hp was 3, but anything is better than david yates
(source-- watched them along with the shriekcast)
sure he cruelly genocided the Taíno, but he also made Gremlins so it's impossible to say if he's bad or not
Pros:
Directed Gremlins,
Directed Harry Potter,
Directed Harry Potter 2: Hairier and Potterer
Cons:
Bad ship captain,
Genocide
Larger quantity of pros than cons I'm afraid, smh
My only issue with it is the story about the love interest's dad dying by breaking his neck in a chimney seems slightly out of place.
I just wanna watch little guys tear shit up during Christmas and maybe kill people but in cartoonish ways. The overly dark tragic back-story kills the vibe for me.
Could've just made him die in a car crash on his way home for Christmas, or cheated on the mom near Christmas, or something like that.
Yeah but Gremlins II is guilty of original sin. It has Hulk Hogan in it.
