They probably know less normie econ than I do (which isn't much) but have started ranting about price discovery. They seem like a Piketty/Zuboff style "capitalism should not be eaten raw" lib apologist. Any refs or lines on how society need not collapse without markets and a working core of fear?

P.s. I would have posted in Marxism or philosophy but neither is that active

The people's republic of Walmart is fairly lib friendly, I'd probably just use their arguments though rather than getting your friend to read it. Totally wrecks the idea that markets are necessary

I was radicalized into Marxism by way of anti-imperialism thanks to pods and articles by the War Nerd. It was massively eye-opening even without the usual application of left wing politics and it was tolerable to me as an NPC. I think it had a huge help in taking a more cynical and skeptical look at modern politics and seeing that traditional narratives don't fit, don't work, or are outright lies.

As I then looked into left economic politics, I was further radicalized by, of all things, anti capitalist takes on games industry practices such as microtransactions, planned obsolescence, and lack of personal ownership of software due to the whims of a huge corporation's profit margins.

I guess where I'm getting with this, is that you will only be radicalized by any real or perceived injustices within your sphere of personal interests. Find out what that might be, and take that angle of approach rather than attempting to change their mind via carpet bombing them with the opposite take to their already held notions.
