I encounter way too many people using "antisocial" to refer to "not being social" as opposed to "pouring acid on a litter of puppies because it's funny"

I think we just need to teach the word "asocial" in schools then. Maybe in a final Jeopardy as well. Put it in a video game and we've got basically everyone covered, I think.

It exists. Asocial, right? Like just avoiding social interactions and society, not going full on anti society and social interactions

    it means both apparently

I heard it used for the first one for many years before hearing it used in any other contexts

    I agree.

"Antisocial personality disorder" doesn't only mean "doesn't like to make friends." It can mean someone who kills and mutilates household pets.

I know this from personal experience with neighbors' kids decades back. :desolate:

I don’t think we need a new word for antisocial, we need a new name for antisocial personality disorder, because using “antisocial” to describe “pouring acid on a litter of puppies because it’s funny” is absurd

Normal or evil would be the word. The majority of people would do exactly what you described EXACTLY just because they think it's funny.

Being a good person is what's truly antisocial. I'M the bad guy for not eating meat? I'M universally despised because I don't hate brown people? I'M in the wrong because I simply wish to be left the fuck alone?

If you join a club for it acid puppy comedy can actually be quite a social activity
