What exactly is this "neoliberal org" and what kinds of events are they likely to show up to? In any location with organized leftists, we should unironically not allow this to exist. Interpret that into action however you need to.

Hey maybe someone should make a post on this? Active leftists should be kept up to date on groups like this because they actually pose a threat to our on-the-ground organizing if we aren't prepared. There's a lot to be learned just from that guy's twitter and the org website, like the (very real) forms of organizing they do and how their group internally functions. I'd recommend comrades actually give those a read and share some of your own insights.

As a start, here are some things I noticed:

          • They participate in a lot of the same events progressives do (notably rallies for improved local infrastructure such as bike lanes, abolishing parking mandates etc). Events leftists would do well to attend and agitate.
          • Many of their promises seem attractive to working people. In their own words, they advocate for mass transit, more affordable healthcare, marginally better housing, and a focus on early childhood education to name a few. In practice of course, they have self-set limits on how far they're willing to take these promises. They define that as being "realistic", supposedly making their goals more achievable, which can definitely attract folks who can't see the modern Left accomplishing as much. That brings me to the next point.
          • Their continued success with the public relies heavily on their ability to directly engage with the establishment, on mutually good terms. Of course, this is one thing that's extremely difficult for us to match, but it's an advantage they hold which we need to accept and work around. Keep in mind that we're on opposite sides of a struggle, so we can always reach people they can't (i.e. anyone with anti-establishment views).

Just remember, in a period of greater political tension (i.e. a future with a strong, influential Left), orgs like this would quickly lose most of their relevance and most likely be absorbed into the greater establishment. Currently, the US Left is in the perfect state for them to make the argument that they're winning. But any sign of growth or greater coordination among us, and they'll first double down spectacularly, then struggle to keep up. Just like most of their "strategic advantages," it's practically built into their ideology.
