A big part of radicalization is convincing people that the proper routes have been tried and don't work.
yup, the people pulling statues down have happened in the tail of trying to politely petition city councils and the like (in some places) for a decade
And post-hoc (post-hog?) you can get libs on board by saying, truthfully, that you tried it the "right" way but only this produced results.
