Man made horrors beyond my comprehension doesn't even begin to describe what I just watched. I don't even know where to begin. This women wanted to make an inspirational suicide video so she reached out to a fashion retailer? Is my brain jumping to conclusions like this is some sort of psyop to normalize assisted suicide as a defence mechanism against the alternative? That everyone involved agreed "yes, this should be made. This is what society should have."

Same. I used to think assisted suicide should be an option for those suffering from painful terminal illnesses and the like, but now it's clear to me there's no fucking way it should exist without addressing the material needs of everyone first.
Maybe I'm being too much of a doomer, but I wonder how long it will take for them to stop beating around the bush and propose
legal murdereuthanasia as a "solution" to the homeless question. And I wonder how many people would actually protest or be opposed

It's this odd petit bourgeois subculture defined by reclaiming/appropriation of the hippie counter cultural movement, and alternative spellings of common names seem to be a typical characteristic.
I know so many irl beach hippie yogi people and I fucking hate them. They're all super opaque about their jobs (ie. they're fucking capitalists). That kind of private beach event is, minimum, several hundred dollars per day per person.
The focus on aesthetics is really weird to me. I remember holding my grandma's hand while she died, and I remember my mom and my aunt being there (we were the only ones close enough to get there in time). I remember how my grandma's breaths got slower, and us kissing Grandma and saying goodbye. I have no memory of what the room looked like.
I was there when my grandpa died too. We had more warning, so more people were there. My cousins lived out of state at the time, so we called them so they could talk to Grandpa one last time. We sang some of his favorite hymns, kissed him and said goodbye. Again, I couldn't describe the surroundings but I remember the people and what we did.
Not that I think surroundings are totally unimportant--I wouldn't want anyone to have the indignity of dying in squalor, or anything like that. But it's weird to me to think of a "beautiful death" being one that literally takes place in a beautiful area. I'm not performing death for clout on social media. When I die, I hope there are people there who love me. Whether it would look good on Instagram is not something that I care about at all.
