I was very wrong about Kanye's revolutionary potential.

Horrifically, disastrously wrong.

i had a long :matt: rant written but i didn't like it.

not sure if i'm just seeing things but i get the feeling this new fascism that is developing in response to the collapse of neoliberalism is going to be so, so different then the stuff that came in response to a rising left and disintegration of global financial capital v 1.0.

it's still capitalism in decay but it feels like it's going to be fed from the top this time and not even pretend to be a mass movement.

it's going to be cold, mechanistic, and may even pretend to be post-racialist. kayne, elon, and trump are just paving the way. i don't even think this shit has really started yet.

i guess i'm more thinking they won't elevate someone to be a charismatic puppet. either they will personally do it or run it in an oligarchical structure. you'll get some billionaire mussolini or a technocratic cadre of billionaire mussolinis

I'm drunk and can't remember which British writer said it (it'll probably end up being a Tony Benn quote) but it was said that fascism would not goosestep into power in England, but arrive with a tip of the bowler hat.

In the modern-US it'll certainly be some maddening social-media melting pot of incongruous individualism.

Business as usual to a depressing degree.

At least we know what the opposite of extreme individualism is, so we can do the opposite of it.

It's going to be narcissistic celebrity influencers giving literal marching orders to their subscribers. :agony-4horsemen:
