Maybe it's the depression/anxiety/general hopelessness for the future, but I feel like I don't get "legitimately" excited for much these days unfortunately.

But after the Guardians 3 trailer dropped the other day, I actually feel a little...hyped? Like I'm actually looking forward to it more than the typical amount? Even tho it's still 5 months away? And I plan to see the midnight premiere if possible?

I really like the Guardians of the Galaxy, they're among my favorite movies/characters in the MCU, and by the time it comes out it'll have been 6 years since we got their last proper outing (Probably would've gotten it 2-3 years earlier if Disney didn't waste time firing James Gunn for a few months, but I digress). I feel like even people who generally don't like Marvel will often go "Oh, but I like Guardians tho".

Apparently it's not only going to be the final movie for "this iteration" of the team, but also possibly Gunn's last movie for the MCU as a whole, since DC were smart and sniped him when he was fired.

So with that in mind and watching the trailer, it was bittersweet, since it looks to be a dare-I-say pretty dramatic and even epic (Yep, using that word unironically) conclusion to the series. Lookin' like some people are even gonna die n stuff, which makes me sad since like I said I really like basically all of that cast of characters.

It could also be in part that the series has kind of a sentimental value to me, since I remember seeing the first one in theaters back in 2014 with friends I unfortunately am no longer in touch with, so that's a happy memory of them that I have and associate with the first movie. So it kinda almost feels like the end of a small chapter in my life now that it's ending.

But yeah, lookin' forward to it! I think it'll be a nice little emotional rollercoaster for me, for multiple reasons.

The funniest shit is that Pratt was basically the smallest name in the cast an as the lead in a blockbuster movie and Bradly Cooper and Vin Diesel were Side character cg things. In a normal world, Pratt would be the cartoon fox. Plus putting the lead actresses who are known for their great looks in full weird makeup? Wild.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the best capeshit movie as it’s basically just Star Wars but everyone is Han Solo.

It's Drax, Groot and the Racoon that sell it.

I really wish Cosmo wasn't relegated to the video game, but at least he's in something.

Was gonna say, but forgot: As much as Chris "Mario" Pratt has been getting dunked on lately, I think most can agree Peter Quill is one of the roles he does well (That and Parks and Recreation apparently, tho I can't personally confirm).

The two things Chris Pratt can't do are voice acting and serious character drama.

I think he can do the latter in small bursts: There were a few moments in the 1st Guardians in particular where I thought he did a good job being serious, namely the climax.
