The peak of a fascist's worth is after they're properly composted and their protiens are recycled to grow potatoes and carrots.
Final Fantasy 7 has always understood this moral imperative.
I just love the premise of FF7 cuss I feel it's something that couldn't be genuinely made today as a story in which it starts with eco-terrorists conducting a bombing to save the planet and that by the end of the game most players response would be "yeah Avalanche did nothing wrong, fuck Shinra and fuck capitalists/fascists".
and the remake tripled down by having you help the slums organize for community defense against the state + made the whole "Avalanche killed civilians" thing into explicit, textual shinra propaganda in order to start an imperialist war.
Honestly loved the remake with how the slum quests were pretty much just "hey wanna help us out, we just wanna make sure people are safe" right off the bat with the monster hunting board.
just started the original Final Fantasy 7 yesterday! I played the remake first so this one feels super fast haha
destroying the second reactor now :anti-shinra-action:

who is the character designer for Tifa and Jessie and why are they so powerful

they should have stopped him at character design. the man cannot - and I mean absolutely under no circumstances cannot - tell a story past part 1. so every game becomes part 1/X even when it's game 25 or whatever kingdom hearts is on.
Agreed. I've played a good deal of Kingdom Hearts but I can't get myself to play 3 because I'll need to catch up on 7 mobile games. I still bought it for my brother to play
His stories have more parts and side stories than his character designs have belts.
I always admired Tifa. Not just a conventionally attractive character, but a loyal friend to Cloud and a well written, take no shit support character. I love her portrayal in the remake so far. She gets kidnapped, sure, but it never feels like she's a damsel, especially with that slap fight with Scarlett.
What a character. They truly don't write them like they used to.
I knew V*ush was a fake piece of shit when he started talking shit about FF7 during a live stream where he was playing Majora's Mask and asked the audience what he should play next. I mean, :an-tifa: is the OG anti-capitalist game, period. So much opportunity to talk theory during a play through and enlighten his followers, but he's a grifting poseur-ass clout chase.
Fuck V*ush.
My favorite thing is even when the characters challenge people getting hurt as part of the situation it's always neither dismissive of the cost of this shit nor is it dismissive of the reason and purpose and who in the power dynamic had the power to stop at any time, and how they will always choose not to because their purpose isn't ultimately saving lives, it's making money/gaining power.
The fact that the characters are aware that "Well if they stop it's over, but if we stop Shinra just keeps hurting people" and there's no excuse to do lib shit storytelling where we walk back any revolutionary thought a character might have had into :vote: bullshit is really really really rare.
