Only a fraction of runways are equipped with ILS (Instrument Landing Systems), and those typically are only capable of guiding the plane to decision height, not actually landing it. :joker-laden:
Autoland that works at any airport is actually a thing now but it is not a mature technology. It is still an emergency thing for if the pilot has a seizure or something and can't fly, so you press the button to not crash and die.
On the plus side, at least the autopilot here isn't going to run over any kids.
