The GB version of Donkey Kong looks legitimately interesting.

I thought I had imagined that game. I played it on my aunt's game boy at one point, and later assumed I just had a confused kid memory of Super Mario Land.

I used to have it and it was one of my favorite games. Mario had sooooo many different moves you could chain together and the amount of levels and their variety was very impressive for the time.

It's really fun even today. When I was young my aunt gave me Donkey Kong GB, Kirby's Pinball Land, and the big grey brick GB.

I'm very impressed by that Game Boy Donkey Kong game. That's ambition! I especially like the entire original game's premise being just an introduction fake-out. :chefs-kiss:

I have to ask, why do people care about this shit? I'm starting to hate video games, seriously. It seems the go to interest these days.

You are in the games comm getting mad about game content existing. Have you considered logging off or getting mad about something that actually matters?

I feel like you could say that about any 'treats'. Like, Movies have been a cultural focus for over a century now, with the same subset of people interested in the minutia of film history. Stories and plays and sports all go back further.

And personally, I don't really like movies/TV at all, so I have the same gut reaction to you when film buffs talk about the newest X or the history of Y. But people engage with the media they like, and sometimes like learning about the weird little history bits about it.

Just so you and other people are aware of what this dude was doing, he was trying to bait people into listing out their hobbies and their jobs so that kf could build out doxxing profiles.

"treats" are video games. I'm almost positive if you were asked to give up video games for a better world at the sacrifice of your "treats" you would not because gamers are that obsessed with their video games. Whereas someone like me who enjoys all mediums would not have a problem with it.

God I hate people who are obsessed with video games. It's such a corporate treat. I do not think you can be a serious communist while being obsessed with video games.

In a heartbeat. They've basically already been pushed way down my hobbies list by getting a dog and a motorcycle.

edit: the REAL question for everyone here though is, "would you give up internet posting?"

so you're saying you enjoy video games? which makes you a gamer? so you're obsessed with video games?

damn, you should learn to enjoy other mediums

So you're obsessed with video games and disagree with my take? I like video games as well, but I expanded my interest and got into what inspired those storries.

This site claims to shit on gamers, yet I find most people here their main hobby (including you) is playing fucking video games.

God I wish that medium would just die, Watch me get downvoted because most people here are in fact, obsessed with video games. That's the only entertainment medium that are vaguely interested in or its their favorite.

Hard to go into how wrong your are.

And this random anger for someone pushing back against your weird angry take? That's the type of shit that makes an incel.

Reading books is probably #1, but I dabble in lot of hobbies. I do art (and have posted them here, though the post are posts are old enough to have been deleted by the periodic data wipes). I weld, I do programming and electronics (like breadboard stuff, to automate things in a way that doesn't rely on spyware shit like google home). I go outside, hiking or biking usually. And I like physical games like Tabletop RPGs or boardgames a lot more than video games anyway, though sadly with covid its not a good idea to play in person anymore.

I'm sorry for liking things you don't like, and also for having bad taste. I'm glad you're here with your objectively good taste to inform me what is worth caring about.

Also, and I do mean this genuinely: go outside. Log off, take deep breaths, and don't get so angry and internet randos. It doesn't matter if people are wrong on the internet. You can just laugh at them and then log off and go do stuff in real life. You will be happier if you learn anger management.

Lmao, now I'm skeptical as hell that you're actually a brickie. Its a time honored tradition for the different trades to shit on each other, from resi to commercial to industrial. I really doubt you'd last a day with this thin of skin without getting sent home by your foreman.
