Remember when the autopilot would disconnect a second before impact? Convenient that the "failure" happened in such a way that you could tell people the technology actually worked for as long as possible.

World's richest conman. You do gotta hand it to him, for being an absolute moron he's managed to fool people even dumber than him.

It’s easier for people to imagine Elon’s techno-dystopia than the end of capitalism

Tons of other autopilot technologies out there, tons of other manufacturers offering some degree of self-driving. If he wasn't such an egotistical bullshitter, not having a perfect autopilot in 2022 wouldn't be a problem.

Tons of autopilot that uses actual functional tech like LIDAR, instead of shitty cameras and bazinga AI image recognition

GM's Cruise is about the closest to useful full ASD and it's still having lots of problems with its taxi service in San Francisco.

“mere failure to realize a long-term, aspirational goal is not fraud.”

LOL. They want everyone to believe that Musk is just insane, not a fraud. And it is not just FSD.

A few years ago (2020?), Tesla needed lots of cash to continue operating. And Elon started promising that Tesla would have "a million robotaxis on the road by the end of 2020". They raised over $5 billion from investors shortly afterwards, with the specific promise that this is about robotaxis. Then a few months later, Elon just openly said in an interview "yeah, Tesla was close to bankruptcy earlier this year, but we are good now". And... nothing happened.
