I only hate it because like 30% of the nitter rehosts are blocked at work for me so it's a roulette whether I actually get to see the post or not.

Otherwise I think banning twitter links as reactionary is a cool and good thing.

I hate Tw*tter links as they open the bird app instead of just opening a browser tab.

probably the best thread to say this: if people are posting nitter links, can i strongly suggest you use a mirror? nitter.snopyta.org or nitter.kavin.rocks are much better than nitter.net, theyre not as overloaded so they load with way less errors and they keep loading more tweets as you scroll down so its easier to keep poisoning your brain

ps theres also an extension for firefox called nitter redirect that is very helpful for ensuring you never have to go to the bird site itself if you dont post

I'm very glad that Twitter links are now Nitter links. Nitter is lightweight and not user-hostile like Twitter is. (Nitter does not nag you to login and such.)

I don’t understand the reasoning behind this rule. What does it help? Not giving Elon clicks?

Just post the nitter link, Twitter links are garbage anyways for anyone who doesn't have an account. It lock you out after a few seconds and tells you to create an account
