To figure out some skin issues a while back I shaved off all my then-long hair. Now it’s grown to a noticeable length again and there are giant patches and streaks of gray coming in everywhere. I’m only 32. There is too much stress in the world. My mother didn’t gray until her late 40s, same with my grandmother I think. Guess it’s time to own that young grandma drip for the Mad Max future

I have a big patch of grey hair that I keep getting compliments on because people think I intentionally dyed it that way.

Nope, I'm just older than I look.

I started losing my hair at 25 and was getting my first gray hairs before 30. Now I shave my head and have quite a bit of gray in my beard at 37.

I don't mind the gray. I've even gotten some compliments. Of course the flip side is, as you mentioned, that its a sign of the amount of stress I've felt through the yearsobama-sad

My folks didnt go grey until their late 50s.

The hair on my head is dishwater/grey but my beard is fully gray. Started going gray about 10 years ago. Im 45.

I haven’t grayed much yet, but I always had my hair long. Then one day, I noticed it was getting so thin that when it was pulled back into a ponytail, half my scalp was visible, so I cut it short, and that seemed to have helped a bit, less stress from the ponytail… or so I thought. Now, it’s thinned out even more, AND I’m getting massive widows peaks. I’m trying to decide whether to go Jason Statham and keep it hella short, or go full Nick Cage and just comb it back. I’m not much older than you. It only really sucks because my hair was really my only piece of my looks attached to my identity, and it was one of the only connections I have to my culture.

My little brother on the other hand, his hair is thick as hell, but he was half gray by 25.

On the plus side, gray hair is hot on young guys and girls. You can rock it!

Definitely, I’ve never honestly had a problem with graying l. l think gray/white hair looks elegant as hell. My biggest thing was what it probably means: that, yes, modern life for any sort of marginalized identity really is extremely fucked up just like I’ve been saying to all the terrible, terrible masses for a decade at this point and my body knows it. I feel vindicated for my past self, sort of. It’s a weird feeling. Maybe I’m romanticizing it too much, lol.

I find that sort of romanticizing healthy, personally. Vindication of and physical reminders of the struggles you’ve been through. Like a scar that you can look at to remember a fight for justice. ✊

Stress indicators aside, gray hair is baller. My mom has a solid amount of gray at her roots and I keep telling her she should leave it, it lends an air of regality and confidence. Real queen mother shit. Of course it's her choice but I think it'd be cool

Yeah, I agree honestly. I’m not at all bothered with having gray hair; witches and wizards rule, and I appreciate a queen mother. I was more just lamenting that…yeah, stress really has hit me hard if this is happening and I don’t seem to have a genetic predisposition for it at this age. Vindication in the worst way :(

One of my nose hairs went white a few years back. If my knees didn't hurt every goddamn morning for the last decade that would have been the sign I was getting old.
