In the scene, Blanc sits in a bathtub playing the 2018 online multiplayer social deduction game Among Us, which grew in popularity during the pandemic as people were confined to their homes due to lockdowns. As he plays, he communicates with his inner circle, including Sondheim and Lansbury, over video through a Zoom-like platform.

:walter-shock: i can’t believe it made its way to a Hollywood movie

going by that portion, it feels dated already. like playing amogus was strictly a lockdown thing for like 3 months. now zoomers use amongus as a very crappy chat roulette

the whole thing shows that it was set in 2020 and no later. Very fitting, commentary on the recent past and present.

The secret rich-person vaccine was very heavy handed, didn't need to happen.

But it will drive a few Q heads crazy, so I guess that's a positive.

I like to think of that as shoddy, defective tech, like the hydrogen energy crystals or self-driving cars.

There should have been a bit at the end where Benoit goes "and I'm pretty sure whoever sold you that "covid neutralizer" just put Windex in a fancy bottle"

That was awesome lol. Frankly it wasn't heavy handed enough. One of the characters should have said "This is awesome! When does it become publicly available?" and get laughed at by whoever the smuggest rich person there was.

It was such a vivid depiction of the "Trump receives experimental drug that makes him totally recover from COVID" vibe. Like rich people just have this magic tech that proles don't even get to see.

That scene just.. worked. I wanted to imagine he was playing not with the actors, but other detectives.

Even though, I can imagine in the World of Glass Onion, fiendish murders and puzzle mansions ARE A THING and Great Consulting Detectives are just a thing.

Just tell her it's like The Thing. I bet she's seen it.
