Sure is interesting how someone with supposedly left-wing views has the exact same suppositions and assumptions about the "conflict" as a West Bank settler.

Palestinians rallying behind Hamas and the October 7th attack is damning evidence of them all being jew-hating religious fanatics who want to declare sharia; same thing with any protestors who may sympathize. Nothing on the status quo before, nothing on the current genocide the IDF has been carrying out with utmost glee and shamelessness, nothing about the impending humanitarian crisis to result from a Rafah invasion (even worse than the one happening now), nothing about the current leadership of Israel making their intentions clear, nothing (honest) about the current protests beyond some bad attempts at gaslighting them into being "antisemitic" ("someone said settlers should go back where they came from, the horror!"). Just crocodile tears to excuse themselves into getting on the same side of the barricade as Joe Biden, Netanyahu, and the "Back the Blue" MAGAts.

Beware the "moderate", folks. malcolm-checks

I'm left-wing but seeing protests made me support a genocide.

My dude. You're not left-wing just because you don't vote for Trump

Americans really think if you think Trump is mean and, I dunno, you're pro-gun control or pro-LGBTQ+ rights, or pro-abortion rights, etc. (pick from the list of "debatable" social issues) then you're left wing. The more issues you side with, the more socialist you are. You're supporting social issues after all! And if you hate Trump really hard and you support all the causes (which, just for the record, is a good thing to do- no shit) then you're a communist-fascist!

Until a few years ago I really think that like 95% of Americans basically believed the above, perhaps minus the joking sarcasm of it. The liberals seem to have come to a realization, especially recently with pro-Palestinian sentiments growing, that there definitely is some other mysterious land beyond just hating Trump and thinking gay people should able to be married. Most reject it, of course, but hey, maybe they'll wander on over eventually.

The right wing liberals, "conservatives", have just kept insisting, somewhat comically to the other 70% of US who range from whatever degree of socialist, left-anarchist, etc. to left-liberal types, that left-liberals, democrats, the people currently funding and cheering, screeching practically, for genocide to continue are actually communists.

I don't know if they're realizing like if you call Biden a communist while he's texting Bibi day after day "hey guy, check's in the mail" it loses whatever propagandistic effect that remains from the Red Scare Cold War times. It's obviously already lost its heavy-hitting effect with millennials for the most part and totally for zoomers, but it even wears thin with older populations I have to imagine. Like my parents under no circumstances will believe Biden is a socialist or communist. My mom likes Bernie who openly calls himself a socdem. They're in their mid-60s btw and definitely lean more right wing as many of that age range do. It's just not working. Screeching into the void.

Unfortunately the "smarter" ones (I never want to give much credit) are realizing what people like, oh I don't know, Mussolini and Adolf fucking Hitler realized: they can simply appeal to (surface level and rhetorically only of course) a broad "working class" of people, the way the actual left does, but also sell this nationalistic bullshit with it. Tied in with insane evangelical religious shit that an extreme minority believes in but somehow keeps getting pushed at the national level (then dems feel the need to negotiate with it......). Mostly referring to Cotton who is a dipshit but his fascistic instincts are clear. JD Vance who seems genuinely much smarter, but also the fascistic instincts are clear. Gaetz to some degree. Probably a few others. These are people I hesitate to call fascists because they lack any sort of proper grounding I'd personally associate with fascists of the 1920-40s. They aren't (yet) directly appealing to workers on a grand scale. But they are doing it more and more on an individual scale infrequently. Tucker Carlson does it too. Or did. These are the people liberals will flock to in droves if they ever get a coherent message together. However for the time being, capital has little to fear from the left and thus doesn't see a need to invoke a fully fledged fascist immune response. Yet, anyway. I hope these pro-Palestine protests help fuel an even bigger movement amongst the left driven by ideologically centered young people pushing for very clear, unambiguous changes to policy with no negotiations offered. The changes will happen. Just do it. That type of militant attitude is lacking but growing. And in response we should absolutely expect to see a disproportionate rise in right wing, openly fascistic protests and politicians embracing it more and more.

At this point, there needs to be a basic leftist test that issues a printable license to those who pass.

    Questions:

    1. Do you support capitalism?
    2. Do you support reactionary thought?
    3. Do you support imperialism and genocide?

Oversimplifications aside, I genuinely can no longer take one's self-identification as a leftist seriously. It's been like this for a while, but so many "leftists" have shown themselves to be lying in such instances as the post above, and they continue to do so.

      1. Do you support capitalism?

No, of course not! I think that the ultrawealthy should pay their fair share of taxes.

      1. Do you support reactionary thought?

Like Donald "Orange Man" Drumph? Lol of course not. I'm not an authoritarian!

      1. Do you support imperialism and genocide?

Never! I oppose Russia's eternal imperialism against Ukraine, and Chinas genocide against the Uyghurs.

Yeah no, it feels like we're so far gone that liberals won't even agree to the same definitions of very key concepts.

There were a couple of people from the old sub who flipped from lecturing me about proper ML doctrine to becoming ardent zionists and neocons. Which is why I will never ever accept any criticism from any of you, and consider myself doctrinally perfect.

I say agitate these people and let them speak. Translate their words into as many languages as possible. The global majority already sees the truth about Israel. They are not a self sufficient "nation" and they will not survive being the paraiah they have become.
