Suddenly all my friends are really into jazzy Arcade Fire. What gives?

Nah it's because arcade fire sucks now tbh

BCNR wanted to be the new Arcade Fire and they've done it with their last album

I mean win butler has allegations from multiple individuals now. But yeah, i hated arcade fire since the day my art teacher from art school put them on during a class

I liked their first album, and the original version of Sunglasses. They def sounded hella influenced by Slint, but the vocalist was cool.

The second album I saw one of the music videos and it was the straightest fucking thing I have ever seen. Then I listened to that song where the main singer confessed that Charli XCX was his waifu and I was like "fuck this shit". So yeah their a 1 hit wonder imo.

Oh shit are there gay people in Black Midi?

I personally found that band more original sound wise imo.

There’s only one queer person in black midi (cameron’s bi).

I was referring more to the audience for black midi, whenever I’ve gone to their shows I’ve noticed that there are far more overtly queer people than you’d ever expect in a cross section of society and also during the time I was active on the black midi subreddit it was clear that loads of the users were very queer. Also there was constant thirst posting for Geordie Greep

Pretty good band, I saw them live for like £10 back when Isaac was still playing with them

My friends and I are very enamored with them. But we're weirdos that get all the slint references on the first album and like sad English boys writing poetry. Suffice to say, Ants was my album of the year, 10/10, the finale of basketball shoes has the same impact for me as the finale of my favorite symphony. They just got it.

I like when they have the saxophone and the violin and the piano and also when the guitars play loud.

They're pretty good, everyone was freaking out about Issac leaving but I think the new dude is filling in for him super well. They just did a vinyl-only EP with him on vocals and it was great.

my gf and i kinda like them. we clown on them tho, they have this lyric they repeat in a few songs: "she has billie eilish style". we just think that line is so goofy

but yeah the violinist in BCNR is in this other group called Jockstrap. theyre way better and their debut album came out a few months ago and it slaps

a " when the sun is deep even Dwarfs can cast long shadows" situation.

the Muses have left the British Island , but you are still there so what choice do you have but to get into fucking Jazz and whining voices...

whoever listens to that or the new Arctic Monkey stuff will not be much help in the Revolution. It is my solid conviction.

They're one of the bigger newish hardcore bands that have broken out into the mainstream for being different enough to be quite unique even among their peers.

I personally don't like them, but I get the deal. The instrumentation mixed with Elliot Smith angst works in a neat way. Still, I like my hardcore a little more Swain and Joyce Manor and a little less Tropical Fuck Storm.
