I've been looking through various film award winners from around the world and have a huge list of films that I want to get. Most of the Edda Awards winners, as an example. What Linux distro sites should I try looking for them on?
Damn that site is right up my alley. I have good standing in several private trackers. Wish I could get an invite.
Depends how obscure. I would suggest using qBittorrent, enabling the searchers, downloading and configuring Jackett, creating a rutracker dot org account (just use a translation feature), tying that into Jackett's search then searching with Jackett running for the films. You can find a surprising amount in old dvd rips (especially from Russian sites) though there are some things that are just dead (no seeds) or don't exist outside of private trackers. Some of the most obscure content only exists on the most elite, hard to get into trackers, many of them not open to new user registration on any level anymore.
You say you have good standing in some private trackers, so tehconnection might be worth looking into if it still exists. It's been years since I abandoned my account, but iirc they're medium-easy to get into and seemed to focus on obscure films
I found at least four Edda winners on Kanopy, which you may have access to via your public library. Rams, Heartstone, Under the Tree, Of Horses and Men. If you’ve already caught those, any you’d particularly recommend?
I'm just trying to build a collection of non-Anglo films for movie nights. I haven't seen any yet.
can u list some? ill see if i can find it on private trackers and usenet
