I can’t afford/make the time to see a therapist, but I watch The Price is Right every day. Then I always want to talk about it with people, but nobody wants to.

Have you ever considered that spinning a wheel is fun, while therapy is boring?

My conspiracy theory is that there is something up with the wheel. I have seen more $1 spins in the last few months than I have in my 30 years of regular watching. Almost daily someone will hit $1 on either one or two spins

spinning a wheel is also generally not painful or useless, and you have a good time waiting for a chance at it instead of the hell that is intake.

i initially misread that as "would rather spin IN a giant wheel than go to therapy" and i was like

"YEAH? AND WHAT OF IT biggs" in solidarity with all our rodent comrades rat-salute

It hasn't been the same since that guy reverse-engineered the show's pricing formula, then proceeded to win everything right down to the exact dollar. They started introducing elements of randomness after that.

There's a lot of articles about it, but most of them get the facts wrong, as I've come to learn just now. The contestant who perfect bid everything actually was helped by somebody else, but tried to take credit for coming up with the formula. There's a documentary you can watch for free on YouTube that gets into the details:

I'm watching it now. Let me know what you think!

I don't want to discourage anyone from seeking therapy, but I have pretty much had universally bad experiences with therapists my entire life. Some have been actively harmful. And they are expensive. Maybe it's better outside of the USA.

Also most people I know who talk about therapy a lot are self absorbed people who actually haven't gotten any better.

I really enjoy the new-ish “Back in the Day” game, where they have the contestant guess prices of products from 1974- they even read the original ad copy!

my dad was on price is right and lost the showcase to the other competitor

he has the ep on vhs somewhere

during commercial break the other contestant was talking to him and bob barker were doing a friendly chat and she was saying "i think itll be around this price" and my dad was like no way and threw some individually priced items in the showcase to her and she used his advice to beat him lol my dad is too nice but he had a blast anyways
