the greater DNC-sphere's current take on this is "oh sure biden did break the law but come on, trump did it worse and that's why we should prosecute trump and do nothing about biden because hey we all misplace state documents sometimes"

I wonder why a majority of people don't bother to vote :thonk:

That sucks. Cmon libs, embrace this.

"I voted for the Iraq war guy, why would I care about some documents. Yea, when Trump did it it was bad because he is on a different team. Bye"

Joe Brandon is finished, long live president Kamala Harris! :volcel-kamala: Pell grants for all who qualify if they have a teacup dog grooming salon in a border town with mexico in a neighborhood with exactly 5,500 people.

The possibility of a Democrat presidential primary for 2024 just went up. Looking forward to getting bullied to support whichever absolute fucking dork the Democrats coronate

whichever absolute fucking dork the Democrats coronate

Literally who though. The problem with dismantling any potentially threatening grassroot movement in your party is that largely everyone halfway charismatic and/or authentic has been rooted out.

My mom seriously threw out Tim Ryan as a candidate in the car yesterday. Who else? :pete: ?

Lin would be the funniest possible outcome. Even funnier presidency than trump. Imagine all the theatre kid one direction fan girls feverishly explaining why Hamilton Boy absolutely needed to drone strike 5 children

I'm imagining a white house staffed entirely by theater kids has mostly no difference from current dem WH staffs but their press releases would have a lot more hands pressed to foreheads and such

If you're reading this, do not vote for either party. It does not matter who the Democrats nominate. They will do the same shit they always do.

Exactly, the only thing we can control electorally is whether or not to help them manufacture our consent

This is turning into Hillary’s Emails 2.0

So a genuine and serious breach of security that should’ve been heavily prosecuted but was instead defended to the death by libs?

gotta catch these libs not thinking about hilary's emails and ask them about colin powel's emails, but none of these people knew what a computer was in ~2006

torn between piosting my rant on the incredibly sketchy shit that happened that libs ignored but ugh effort.

yeah you know someone is innocent when someone deletes a server knowing it's under subpoena and just goes "oops I shouldn't have done that" but gets immunity anyway for nothing, also he did it immediately after a phone call with unknown contents between him, Cheryl Mills (hillary's chief of staff) and Heather Samuelson. The contents are unknown because they cited attorney client privilege with Hillary being the client despite neither of them working as an attorney for her, and Combetta just "serviced the call." They both got partial immunity for the contents of their laptops and nothing ever came of that

this is like 1% of it it makes me so fucking angry

So what actually is the likely story here? Hillary's emails? Definitely corruption. Trump's docs at Mar-a-Lago? Probably also corruption but I could also see him wanting to keep docs for the hell of it. But this? Not saying Biden's above corruption but I highly doubt it's like he was gonna sell the info to spies or something. President of the US doesn't really seem like a job you're gonna need to take docs home to review. Maybe if he left them around the white house but why bring them to Delaware?

Hunter wasn’t earning fat checks from Ukrainian energy companies because he was a uniquely gifted business mind. He was there because that’s a plausibly deniable way of funneling cash to Biden.

It feels really gross to sort of "defend" Joe Biden, but I don't think those payments went to him though (but I would love to be proven wrong). I think Joe Biden knew what was up and likely gave concessions to Ukraine because of it but even if Ukraine didn't get anything out of the deal, Joe was perfectly OK with since Hunter was getting paid big bucks for nothing. It strains credulity that anything about Burisma is above board though. The kind of people who get those spots on boards (when it's not naked corruption) are like retired energy industry bigwigs. Not failsons with a drug problem who have absolutely zero relevant experience.

No I don’t think the payments went to Joe’s account either but that doesn’t make it any less corrupt at all. Flowing the cash to Hunter is just an accounting exercise. It is no less corrupt to do it that way than to direct it to Biden. Literally no difference in terms of culpability for corruption.

I think there two categories of answers.

One, Biden is a moron of astronomical dimensions. Even after Hillary's emails - it didn't occur him to him to check, recheck, and triple check to be 100% certain he had no skeletons in his closet related to secret material. Or aides suggested he do the checks and - for whatever reasons - he lied and said such checks had already been made.

Two, choose your conspiracy theory. I like the idea that he and his team monumentally fucked up didn't properly vet members of the Secret Service charged with protecting him. They were loyal to Trump so they royally fucked him.
