My favorite thing about soviet anti-western proganda is it's just them teling the truth about the west in an uncomplicated way.

Look, we only let them be a part of NATO

And put them in charge of West Germany

And put some of them in charge of NATO

As an aside, it's deranged how easily verifiable that stuff is, but it's just glossed over if mentioned at all.

"Yeah, this person was a high ranking cabinet member in a political party that wanted to extinguish like 90% of humanity from the Earth, what should we do with them?"

"Just give them a position of power in our new anti-commie alliance, it'll be fine"

A lot of people are so adamant that this never happened and will argue until they turn blue. But when you present evidence to them they suddenly claim that "it doesn't matter!"

Which is weird because if it didn't matter, then why did they so adamantly try to deny it?

Most of my friends have talked about this at some point and all of them acknowledge it but treat it as not a big deal and continue talking about how China, Russia, Iran, DPRK, etc. are evil and threatens world peace :yea:

“Just give them a position of power in our new anti-commie alliance, it’ll be fine”

      :jokerfication: it's not a bug...

      :jokerfied: ...it's a feature.

Considering Adolf Heusinger became chairman of the NATO military committee 3 years after this cartoon was published, it's fair to say it isn't inaccurate at all. Also, West Germany was allowed into NATO in 1955, less than 10 years after the Holocaust. Denazification was very swiftly declared a done deal (without evidence) by Konrad Adenhauer, and the German "miracle on the Rhine" commenced. This was declared a victory of capitalist efficiency, but it really was just quasi-colonization of Germany by the USA through the Marshall plan. Direct Foreign Investment leading to rapid reconstruction of West Germany, so that it could be used as the front line of the "Iron Curtain," was the goal all along. "Iron Curtain" of course being what Churchill called the border between the Capitalist West and the Socialist East, a border that was more strongly imposed by NATO than it was by the Warsaw Pact, given that NATO formed in 1949, and the Warsaw Pact didn't form until 1955, when the Soviets saw NATO literally re-building Germany.
