i dont have much nice to say about u/liberalsocialist so i wont say much, but their presence here was entertaining and ill miss having their posts that were rich with comments

our loss of u/ides_of_merch however is a true tragedy. i was always so excited to see their BMF-esque posts, they were perfect. they got banned for sectarianism but i think it was a misunderstanding :(

She just got banned? Wow. I didn’t know that. You’re telling me now for the first time. She led an amazing life. What else can you say? She was an amazing poster. Whether you agreed or not, she was an amazing poster who led an amazing life. I’m actually saddened to hear that. I am saddened to hear that. Thank you very much.

I was about to ask if that was beef. The light bulbs threw me for a loop, I assumed they were powered by electricity generated by burning coal or something

But for real, I just emptied out the contents of my lungs in one long tortured groan. Conservatives are so fucking stupid, literal toddlers

Yeah it was plastic straws and Liberals wanting to take away their hamburgers or some shit. IIRC AOC had some quote that mentioned hamburgers when talking about plastics and the republicans went batshit.

It was wild, even for the republicans. I wish I could find the video of a hog going off on how Stalin's dream was to take hamburgers away from Americans.

          It was fucking gold.

Ah man, at long last. I was waiting for that sanctimonious little lib to finally chew through their supply of good faith. Always acting like the kid in kindergarten who would kick you in the shins, then run and hide behind teacher's skirts. "I don't know why some people here are so mean to meee, I'm just asking questionss:kitty-cri-texas:"

    Ugh. Good riddance, redditor.

just like a healthy pine forest ecosystem must undergo periodic burns to maintain stability and biodiversity, hexbear must undergo a periodic BMF banning to maintain a diversity of communist tendencies

(also the use of controlled burns by humans to prevent wildfires that pine forests eventually burst into was first used by indigenous people)

They keep getting banned for sectarianism and just come back with a new account posting in that unmistakable style, it's just a core part of the entire BMF phenomenon by now. The original BMF account was also banned for the same reason and there were one or two between that and ides_of_merch afair.

oh lol, so they actually do dislike anarchists? bc the post they got banned for this time had no other anarchist criticism other than using the term "anarcho-neoliberals" which i assumed was just a joke. they should prob not blanket hate all anarchists if they want to keep posting in communist spaces

hating genuine ancoms is legit sectarianism. i know a lot of libs claim the mantle of "anarchist" but there are plenty of real anarchists on hexbear who are valuable members of the community

I think it more that we can argue and debate in other online spaces, but this is like a refuge for far-left anti-capitalists. We're here just to help weather the storm.

i agree completely. but i think the best strategy is to try to maintain an understanding with everyone who agrees that capitalism must be ended. and a lot of reddit "anarchists" have reactionary ideas and have a nonsense understanding of AES states, but there are ancoms here who respect the achievements of socialist states and they offer reasonable critique that doesnt rely on western propaganda

thats true. but we still get lumped in with patsocs despite our protests. left unity first, if there is a practical reason our tendencies cause us to split so be it, but we dont even have a party to split

lets just get along with our anarchist comrades :left-unity-3:

There was a good portion of time where I legitimately believed they were a ChatGPT bot. However, my current hunch is that they were a Destiny redditor, probably not ever a wrecker, but too young and too online to actually know anything, because there were multiple instances where somebody would point out that many of the the topics they posed were on the Destiny subreddit a couple days prior to being posted here. There is also a strong possibility that they were a Hasan redditor, as they carried a great obsession with posting about how cool and important Hasan is.

Definitely not a current/former CitationNeeded listener, Chapo listener, 4channer, nor a former resident of r/cth.

It's definitely a good question and a reason that, imo we should be allowed to have those off-topic conversations and meta-comments in those threads. Why not actually use those 'drama' threads to discuss that kind of stuff, where the algorithm pushes 'everyone' to see it? But I digress into possibly bannable material. To get back to the question you posed, pretty much what is, generally, agreed on by the PPC (PowerPosterConsensus) is that Parenti has uncontroversially the best takes on the nature of neoliberalism, communism, imperialism, fascism, and the nature of propaganda. I'd even go so far to say as even most of the anarchists on here agree with the majority of what he says. If there is one thing we agree on its that social democracy is basically the left-wing of fascism. As such, I'd basically say spam Parenti at them until they either leave or read it and ask questions about it.

“was MLK a liberal?” was a legit post title

I think this is a legitimate question based on the narrative we receive in public education, the recuperation of King into the national pantheon, and the kind of hopeful rhetoric King uses in a lot of his speeches about the US living up to its failed promises. He was a legendary speaker who knew exactly how to frame circumstances in a way which implicated the very core of the nation's liberal ideology. Effectively saying, 'by your own logic, we deserve nothing less than prompt and comprehensive liberation.' It is pretty cringe to call him a Liberal, because doing so obscenely reduces his stature. But I also don't think it is fruitful to play tug of war with his corpse on social media trying to claim him. It is about as productive as the people who run around saying Jesus was a socialist.

The man was an organizer above all. He organized with radicals as well as liberals. What he notably didn't do was throw more radical figures like Malcom X and Kuame Ture to the wolves in order to appease the liberals, even if he personally held a less radical position (hopeful of reconciliation). Liberals love to hold him up as champion of non-violence, but King never blamed the oppressed for taking up violent resistance either. He spoke about it with lament, but as an inevitable result of the ongoing circumstances. It is a fundamentally different position from liberals today who will turn you over to the cops at an anti-cop protest for busting a window. Worlds apart.

I think they were the most successful wrecker the site's ever seen. Make a post saying some ridiculous, hostile, :jesse-wtf: bullshit and double and triple down until you've got a big ol' struggle session on your hands, then pretend to be sorry about it just enough to not get banned, then come back 2 days later and pull the exact same shit again. Gets a lil sus when it happens for the 7th time in a row.

Libsoc helped me remember that even though this place is one of my favorite spots on the internet, it is still not to be taken too seriously.

I would get some responses with the weirdest, contrarian takes, and I would get flustered and mad that someone had misinterpreted my point or why would someone postsnything that horrible... Then I'd look at the username and realize it was Libsoc, and just accepted it was their weird brand of posting.

Based on their argument style and the substance of their rhetoric, it will not unless they actually have to work a shit job for years at some point in their life. There is and always was zero materialist analysis behind any of their posts, existing only within 'socialist' liberal moralizing and ultimatums.

Funnigui posting for sure, but not coherent or leading to coherency in any sense. Zero meta-analysis or actual understanding of how people and systems actually function within the real world outside of their imagined headspace. The labeling of being opposed to being hyper-online as 'boomers' is really the icing on the idealism cake (after-all boomers are even more hyper-online in only interacting with content than gen-z, i.e. their taking over of Facebook). They will only ever post, and all posting does is feed the ravenous content beast inside your soul. Ever hungry, never learning.
