The fact that this reactionary garbage is getting upvotes in this thread speaks to a very serious lack of basic political education. Coming out of a time machine from 2004 and believing 'when people freak out it's because they can't handle your truth' isn't an excuse to be this oblivious. And then to go the extra step and make your own framing that centers you as the victim. Absolute baby brain.
:brainworms: :brainworms: :brainworms: :brainworms:
The "truth" that white people are animals and should be avoided?
The absolute worst thing that could have happened to you as a person is this one other idiot validating you to the point you can avoid self criticism
I'm not the one being racist online. So I throw back at you.
:fash-bash:
And you're threatening violence as well. To be expected I suppose.
:powercry-2:
Mmm yes. The thinking out loud affectation of the 14 year old debate bro. Quite.

Could you tell me why the brain worms in the emojis are so cute and fluffy? Do you think it's commentary on how it could be kind of nice to have them despite their infesting your brain and all?
Anyway, I just want to say that I hope you have a great day.
How have you been on this website for two years and yet still think it's definitionally possible to be racist against white people?
Clearly lurking isn't doing it for you. Knock the smug bullshit off if you're too much of a coward to confront your beliefs critically.

I love superficial civility in the context of affirming white supremacist talking points
Did someone just explicitly call on me to do self crit? Best of luck to you! I guess I'll just lurk and watch for a while without doing that!

as someone who has recently touched grass, i ask you to https://readsettlers.org/
thanks, it is about time I read this.
You're creating a very large space for yourself to be a very stupid person by pathologizing disagreement with you like you've just done. Does that prompt you into some self criticism or does more need to be said?
Well, I don't think I'm shirking any kind of self criticism here, and I'm not "pathologizing disagreement" to the extent that you are. I understand that you've encountered the posts I've made this morning and have interpreted them as smug, and in some way, supportive of white supremacy and racism. I disagree with and contest this interpretation, but will take time to consider why it could be seen as such and if I should adopt different views.
You, on the other hand seem to understand that self criticism is something for other people to do, and you've been very snippy and hostile in making this clear. You can think I'm stupid or racist, I don't care. At least someone was kind enough to link Settlers to me (and yes, I'm going to read it), which is infinitely more constructive than just telling randos online that they're wrong and they need to reconsider things until they agree with you and if they don't they're just too white and western to see the light.
Once again, I hope you have a great day.
Literally telling me I need to go outside and touch grass because of my problems with the racist shit you've said versus me telling you that you're wrong about saying racist shit.
What a fucking load of work you turned out to be. Just like saying to yourself "I don't think I'm shirking any kind of self criticism here" as if you're the person you need to listen to in such situations.
The way you weaponize civility is fucking disgusting.
Lying about the criticism you're receiving to yourself is fucking pathetic. The desperate need to frame any friction you get so as to make yourself the victim. What a spoiled fucking brat. To think that embracing whiteness like this should be off limits as a criticism.
What a fucking nerve on you to have it in your head that you should be able to speak as much as you listen.
Huh, lots to think about here. I think I'm going to do some self criticism.
I do get it, I understand where it comes from.
But that kind of anger can easily be used to reinforce exactly what you think you're critiquing.
What some people don't get is that they have fully accepted and internalised whiteness in their attempt to fight it. I thought this place might be more mature and willing to talk about it. Instead, they're just calling me names.
I like Hexbear alot, I try not to post too much, but I lurk nearly every day. But yeah, of course they're going to call you names. People on the left love to squabble, and when shit gets too real they call each other wreckers, feds, and complain that they're not really helping build .01% of communism. For what it's worth, I appreciate you posting in good faith, but do keep in mind people just get rowdy in Dunk_Tank.
And 100% that woman is just racially prejudiced against people she identifies as white. School boards attract all kinds of reactionaries, it's kind of unavoidable that some of them are bigots.
Hexbear and online leftists in general seem to think that reactionary is when you are right-wing, which means if you are left-wing you cannot be reactionary.
Indulging in the existence of whiteness, and critiquing it within its framework of itself, is a reactionary position.
There's a reason they killed Fred Hampton. He transcended whiteness and that is what's dangerous.
I mean, whiteness and white supremacy do exist. Just because "whiteness" (and race generally) exists as a social construct rather than a facet of material reality doesn't stop it from having material ramifications on people's lives. Saying that it's a construct, and that we can continually remind ourselves that it's some collectively negotiated fluid idea, until it simply no longer exists because it doesn't seem real to us anymore is not, I think, a practical approach. It's downright idealistic. Then again, I'm not sure I have any better solutions either, apart from reorganizing society so that the quality of life enjoyed by all people is relatively equal (for starters), but it seems like anybody who actually advocates for that convincingly gets put into a box somewhere.
That's why I made sure to say "indulging" rather than "acknowledging".
It's not about ignoring it, but rather transcending the dialogue completely. "Colour-blindness" is also another aspect of white supremacy because it internalises whiteness as the natural order of things i.e. "everyone is the same" (read:white)
You can't ignore it, but you also shouldn't wallow in it.
