Really it's more like Plan B, the fertilization was stopped when the egg was refrigerated, long before the fetus could start developing. But of course life obviously begins at conception so. Commercial eggs are unlikely to be fertilized though. I don't really see what good it would be for the company to have a rooster around. But I've seen someone hatch a grocery story quail egg so idk. link
