Would anyone really miss it?
Good news: The Great Salt Lake is going to dry up in a few years and turn Salt Lake City in to a toxic hellhole unsuitable for human life.
as disgusting and terrible as this is, i hope it happens. it could hopefully serve as a "quick" and consumable demonstration of how serious climate devastation is and will be for the future
this take is pretty acceleration in a way but i sincerely don't mean it like that or don't want to. everything just seems hopeless every time i look at how fucked the climate is
Yeah, we should never have ceded anything to the Mormons
History would have been on a much better route if Joseph Smith was mysteriously bludgeoned to death before he "found" those golden tablets
No weird bigamy
Fewer gunfights between the white man
More hot drinks, perhaps even hot drinks we can't even imagine
No nerds in white dress shirts and ties knocking at my door so they can get their own planet.
It's awful, I live in a town that has a Mormon church and a Jehovah's Witnesses church
I can't sleep in on Saturday unless I disable my doorbell and even then, they knock
I used to work with a Jehovah who would bring his holy book to work and read it out loud on breaks.
History would have been on a much better route if Joseph Smith was mysteriously bludgeoned to death before he “found” those golden tablets
One of my greatest shames as someone from NY is knowing that we could have killed him and instead just ran him out of the state like libs
The Mormon cult is one of the most disgusting systems of control on peoples lives in Utah. I am allowed to go all "Reddit atheist" about it because of how it ruined most of my childhood and delayed my transition into my 30s.
they're a cult, pure and simple. They deserve the hate.
I grew up in it, it fucking sucks and I give everyone permission to go full atheist on this one.
Utah isn't even in my top five states that need banning.
Let me know when we've dealt with South Dakota, South Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, and Florida.
Don't you put that evil on us. It's like being shackled to a corpse. Also, lately NC hasn't really been so great itself unfortunately
Hingepoints episode idea: Utah never gets statehood, but becomes essentially a Mormon reservation.
Mormonism, it's bad folks! More and more people are saying it.
Critical support for arsenic dust storms. May I never have to hear of postum again
Can we still keep Zion Natl Park? I have very fond memories of that place
People who don't live in Utah might not know this but plastic surgery is REALLY popular here. Lots of 16-18 year old girls getting breast augs for their birthdays. Curiously no one is calling that a mutilating surgery and seeking to ban it.
