I've always wanted rats but I just don't think I can deal with a lifespan of roughly 3 years; it must break your heart to lose them. Three years is a short time.
Yeah I always hear the same thing. Know lots of former rat folk and they eventually have to stop with their hearts too broken.
I had mice when I was a kid and it was sad when they died, especially because first one died and then the other seemed to die from loneliness or heartbreak a week later

legit this is super cool. i like how they follow who's in front of them until it gets crowded and patiently find space somewhere else.
They're the sweetest, nicest little animals and I love them so much
omg i love the way she helps them up. they cant quite figure it out but shes just like "thats ok, everybody gets to participate"
