Lord of the Rings (film series)
The Hunt for Gollum
Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum was announced to be in development on May 9, 2024 with a planned release in 2026. The script is being developed by Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens and set to be directed by and star Andy Serkis.
They set a high bar and are timeless.
Most people agree they cannot be improved upon, attempts since have proven this. The hobbit was meh. The rings of power was meh.
I enjoyed the rings of power, but at least in part because it upset so many dickheads online.
Anyway my question was rhetorical, abolish copyright, let me make a lotr film.
I enjoyed it too. but i dont think it was anywhere near as good as LOTR
I don't know about their timelessness. I found them a bit dated last I watched them. Legolas skateboarding down a staircase on the back of a shield while shooting several arrows at once is perhaps the single most early 2000s thing on screen.
