    The kitten-burners seem to fulfill some urgent need. They give us someone we can clearly and correctly say we’re better than. Their extravagant cruelty makes us feel better about ourselves because we know that we would never do what they have done. They thus function as signposts of depravity, reassuring the rest of us that we’re Not As Bad As them, and thus letting us tell ourselves that this is the same thing as us being good.

    I should have done that this weekend. Some v*ush watcher was trying to convince me to care about :ukkkraine: because I defended Lula’s actions to pursue a future with Russia. Like I don’t think this iteration of Russia is going to bring back ten USSR but historically I can point out that having :amerikkka: involved would make things worse. Like how we left Russia to pick up gangster capitalism which led us to the current situation there.
