yeah, similar story here. i have a small kitchen in a small house, so space is at a premium. the microwave i had (a hand me down) was enormous. so i got one of those like decent toaster ovens instead (also since i didn't have a working toaster), which is a pretty versatile little appliance, especially the newer-ish ones that have decent fans and sort of pretend to be little convection ovens.

for soups and reheating junk i use the stove, which is fast as hell and lets me get right where i want to be, food temp wise and gives the opportunity to add things.

people who come over though to stay for a bit are always like, "where is the magic box? you don't have the magic box? but my leftovers are cold!"
