“Oh if you have a 600w microwave put the popcorn in for 3 minutes, 1000w? Put that shit in way less time”
“I know the power output of my kitchen appliances” - statement dreamed up by the utterly deranged
Reading user manuals :dean-frown:
Waiting until the popping noise slows down :dean-smile:
it's a wild experience being currently in the second season of Breaking Bad and having these emojis turn from vague memes into people to whom I have emotional reactions
The microwave where I live has a popcorn mode. Don't know how it works, but it always slightly undercooks it, a few kernels don't get popped.
I guess it's better than burning the popcorn
That's normal, you could actually burn the popcorn and still leave kernels unpopped
Most of the ones I've seen have the same and yet every bat says not to use them
- unscrew the door
- take door off
- turn microwave on
- insert hand
- the time it takes for you to get skin cancer is roughly proportional to the wattage
No idea, I like the videos though. At least I know he's alive when he posts one
1400W, I didn't even have to get up to check, does nobody read the manual these days? I bet you've never used the secret menu to lock the microwave either! :inconceivable:
McDonald's Q-ing ovens are rated at like 1750 watts, depending on the model
I rent my apartment and the microwave came with it. I don't even know if the landlord still has the manual.
There isn't one in mine. And I didn't take it off either, there are warning stickers on the front of the door that I didn't remove. That thing is pretty old though.
The wattage is usually on a sticker right behind the door at the top of the unit. Failing that, it's on the back.
As are microwaves. I reheat food only with the fire of my righteous proletarian anger.
Food is revisionism as well, I live off my belief in the working class.
mine says it on the front. I still do not know it because I don't care enough to remember
1000 watts is on the high end, most microwaves are in the 750-900 range.
it makes my food get an adequate amount of heat and that's all I need to know
Mine has different wattage settings on the front :shrug-outta-hecks:
I was told I could either know the output or how fast the little plate spun.
yeah, similar story here. i have a small kitchen in a small house, so space is at a premium. the microwave i had (a hand me down) was enormous. so i got one of those like decent toaster ovens instead (also since i didn't have a working toaster), which is a pretty versatile little appliance, especially the newer-ish ones that have decent fans and sort of pretend to be little convection ovens.
for soups and reheating junk i use the stove, which is fast as hell and lets me get right where i want to be, food temp wise and gives the opportunity to add things.
people who come over though to stay for a bit are always like, "where is the magic box? you don't have the magic box? but my leftovers are cold!"
It's useful for a couple things, none of which are actually cooking anything.
