Based Elon Musk. He needs to implement his brain genius idea of making twitter subscription only

On one hand he's going to get more people to self purge to alternatives which will lower costs....maybe.

On the other hand advertisers will bail / pay less because less people are engaging on the platform which will lower revenue.

Maybe I'll throw a bone and say compete directly with Patreon and the Metaverse. You already have users. All you need to do is better than pre-Alpha Wii. Hire that John Cusack dude and pick his brain.

But I think Elon is deliberately trying to destroy twitter to merge it with Neuralink to make Shitter IRL and have chud's thoughts beam right to the net.

Pretty sure this would make them more likely to be sued.

Twitter was sued in the past because of its poor implementation for 2FA.

It's like watching a nazi light a pile of Harry Potter books on fire and catching alight along with them. I kinda wanna hack into their office just to play Yackety Sax over the intercoms.

Two factor authentication is cool and good actually. You could argue twitter shouldn't have it because it's just dumb social media but for important stuff it's actually really vital to have it in place.

Just using passwords is insecure as hell because people are shit at both choosing them and keeping them secret.

boy I sure love to have to have a new password every month for my bank account because I forget what they are and only have 3 attempts before it's fucking locked and needs to be changed and can't use an old one EVER so I can't just have A FUCKING PASSWORD THAT I REMEMBER because it HAS TO BE DIFFERENT EVERY FUCKING TIME can't wait to have TWENTY SEVEN DIFFERENT FUCKING ACCOUNTS FOR THINGS ALL SUBJECTED TO THE SAME

            love the fucking FUTURE

Unfortunately, it's reliant on the cell network, which if it goes down I can't access my welfare payments.

Also, sometimes it takes several hours for my sms code to come in, and then it doesn't work.

I realise these are problems outside of the 2FA, but I'd rather not have it for a lot of vital things. It's fine for unnecessary things.

Half the time I use 2FA I have to go hunt down the mobile which has shit service in my work area or the 3rd party contractor used for 2FA , which is a whole crap-it-all-ist industry now. didn't feed their server hampsters [insert spongebob time card] when I just need to do 2 minutes of work.

My father had his Amazon account hacked even though he had 2FA. I've just had a shitty experience with it. On paper I can see the practicality / concept of it, but in operation it hasn't been smooth, has it's bugs, and it isn't bulletproof. Just sharing not trying to make a huge argument over it.

For important things, but when every useless app has it it's just aggravating.
