The effect is so subtle, you barely even notice it
i'm a girl whose boobes despawn when they leave the camera frustum
They should increase the frequency of the oscillation so that she can use them as weapons, precision ultrasound strikes to daze her foes so she can close in for the kill
Tecmo apparently used the Dead or Alive engine for this game and didn't think this would be detrimental to the atmosphere of the horror game they were making. Other design and story choices are kinda dubious too. It's just annoying because this series didn't use to be like this
that looks to me like she's getting snapped 180 degrees because of animations or the camera fuckup, but it's been a while since i've seen "extra bounce" on doa 5.
when the camera moves so quick every boob in a 10 metre radius resonates
The consequences of making a game where you programmed your camera to be stationary and the entire scene to move around it.
I'm guessing her character model gets repositioned slightly for the cutscene, which to the boob physics system reads like she just moved at Mach 2 with inertia to match. This also happens any time you interact with anything.
yeah lmao. i think the soul calibur 2 character select was like that as well, except namco was woke enough to give astaroth's alternate costume pec physics too
They literally had the option to reduce the boob physics in the first game (it was termed the "Age" slider in the options), it's sorta baffling they didn't tune it down.
The jubble increased the higher you put the slider and it capped out at 99, if I remember correctly. I think it was meant to be a gag
Most female characters have a noticeably pronounced bust in this game, and they all jiggle. Especially the ghosts.
The only ones without jiggle physics are the elderly, the children*, and the one woman who's meant to present as androgynous.
*This being a Japanese game there are still plenty of teenage girls in school uniforms who do bounce. There's also a literal child bride :libertarian-approaching:
There is also a wetness mechanic so you can see women's bras through their shirts. It has barely any effect on the male playable character :agony-minion:
I would care less if this was some random Pervy Booba Ghost Game but Fatal Frame was never this animey and skeevy
Trying to decipher how this is supposed to be arousing or titillating in any way whatsoever (not that that's what you're supposed to aim for in a horror game). Comically-large breasts I can kinda understand but this...
Jiggling boobs and related things like panty shots in video games have a long history, especially in Japan, going back to hand-animated 2D arcade games. I think it's just horny hetero cis male nerds designing and animating female characters and putting all of their fetishes on screen.
While I guess there's some initial basis in reality "boobs are squishy and would respond to movement" (at least if no bras are involved) video game boob physics have basically evolved into an artform of their own far removed from the real world. Gamers expect boobs to be big and to move noticeably.
It gets funny when everyone has the same exaggerated physics regardless of what they're wearing, like in this game. Even if a woman is wearing standard office attire with a blazer there's still a mini earthquake happening in her chest everytime she takes a step. The only exception seems to be full traditional kimonos worn with obis.
