Best genre, since film does it better than any other medium. Visuals, soundtrack, framing can creep/scare the everloving shit out of you.

      I mean, yeah, shit's terrifying.

Those fucking monsters want to sacrifice actual, living people to further "the economy"

I absolutely love horror movies, always have. We used to have this channel back in the mid-2000s, the Scream channel, where they showed off horror movies and stuff. Loved that shit.

Horror movies are my guilty pleasure, I'm always drawn to watching them. Not sure why, I read somewhere that it may have something to do with catharsis and being able to control when and where you feel fear? If you want some reccs, The cube is always a fun one. The Saw series is pretty good, didn't watch past 3 though. Hellraiser is a classic. I also really enjoy horror games? Soma, Amnesia, Corpse Party, etc etc

You're not missing anything by not seeing the Saw series past 3. I think the only movie in the Cube series I haven't seen is Cube Zero.

Horror games are cool. I really like Alien: Isolation

I’m not a big fan of the Saw series but I must admit I did sort of enjoy Saw VI which had some commentary on our shitty healthcare system, probably made it easy to overlook the weak parts.

There is this documentary about the depiction of black people in horror movies, Horror Noire. Haven't found a way to see it yet though.

Looks like it's on Shudder. I'll give it a watch

If you have Shudder, you should check out Satanic Panic. It's an anticapitalist movie in which of a bunch of rich people try to sacrifice a pizza delivery girl to Satan, and it's really good. I just finished watching it.

I hate them, and never watch them. The only time I see them is when I see them by accident, like Get Out, and Parasite. And I did enjoy those. I somehow thought Get Out was going to be a romantic comedy like Meet the Parents, but with a interracial thing. Brought my wife to see it on a date night with that as the pitch. Woops.

Then similar story with Parasite. Those were good because of the social commentary. But generic horror films just make me anxious and uncomfortable. Whats the appeal? Side question, if you like horror films, do you also like spicy food?

Parasite is not a horror film. It is a black comedy/thriller if anything. Maybe that's not what you meant, idk.

But yes I do like horror movies as well as spicy food. Lizard brain enjoys these things.

Usually I grow a little impatient and get a little disappointed but at least enjoy rush here and there. I might be broken. I can never really get into a horror story much.
