In the recurring American civil war sketch in episode 2 Ulysses Grant travels to West Virginia. All the jokes & conflict then depend on West Virginia being in the Confederacy when it was in fact it never was.

Just seemed like a weird thing to get wrong, even though I know the whole point of the show it to tell silly jokes.

do you mean to keep posting these sorts of details about it? Also I'm curious what bothers you about it. I'm not into most of what passes as comedy, but at 2 episodes into this show I'm enjoying it enough to keep going.

Yeah I’m curious about other posters thoughts on the show. I just didn’t love nick kroll, the civil war bits were alright. The Soviet bits were confused, being generous. And it mostly makes me want to watch the original

Yeah I had to check out with the third episode. It's way too... SNL for me.

Also the musical numbers are completely unfunny. They're just there because the original had one and they don't have any good ideas about what to do with them.

The original had one musical number, it was a funny premise and it used both visual gags & lyrics to be funny. It was also an expensive production with many extras and moving sets but that was crucial to the bit because it needed to be like a big golden age Hollywood show to work.
