I hope Milwaukee goes socialist again

Would be nice to see it start doing good after experiencing an entire childhood of it's decline

Milwaukee is the only American city to have elected three socialist mayors.

At least it was at the time Wayne's World was filmed.

Who managed to get reelected for the Socialist Party in 1956, of all times - regardless of how actually based he was (he did not join the Social Democrats USA in the 1970s split, so he probably felt closer to the left of the party... maybe).

Everyone is like Ross Perot was in 1992, expecting the public to understand "data" and that "longer lines on graphs mean bigger numbers".

For younger people, Perot bought these half hour blocks of time and ran ads where he stood there with an easel full of pie charts, graphs and charts explaining why NAFTA sucked and how his toaster was spying on him.

I understand that the American working class is systematically and deliberately deprived of education, but I don't think the average pedestrian, bicyclist, or even a vehicle waiting at a light is going to fail to understand a bar graph, especially one that is color coded and has the numbers next to each bar.

I was trying to wryly comment that most political messaging acts like they can't read a bar graph, or just respond better to emotional bullshit.

bill boards are fine, it's better way to pay for infrastructure than taxes. We should have more of them

      :cringe:

Ads suck, they are physical and mental clutter designed to manipulate you.

they facilitate the creation of infrastructure and productive forces which is historically progressive unlike your reactionary petite bourgeois sentimentalism
