I've said this before in a similar thread, but it goes like this: get some water, and like, keep a steady flow of water down your throat to keep the uhhhh windpipe-closing-thingy in your throat closed.

This. It's about constantly swallowing, not whether you drink it backwards or upside down or under a full moon or whatever. Drink constantly, but slowly, and it'll stop. Might take two minutes, might take ten, but it'll work.

There are two things that tend to stop hiccups: Holding your breath and stimulating a nerve on the roof of your mouth.

The easiest way to do both is to get a piece of citrus fruit preferably a slice of lime or lemon. Hold your breath for a bit, plug your nose, and before you breathe again, suck on the slice until the hiccups stop.

Pour a glass of water, lean over and drink from the opposite side of the glass (not facing you).

Has about a 90% success rate from my experience.

I don't have a way to get rid of hiccups myself, but for other people I like to hold my hand to their mouth and tell them "give me a hiccup" that usually works.

Different things work for different people. Ask your family since they're more likely to be similar to you.

For me the best thing is immediately drinking water. Doesn't help if it's not soon.

Others I've seen work are: eating a spoonfull of sugar, holding your breath as long as you can, or swallowing as much water as you possibly can in one gulp.
