My aunt and uncle are die-hard Catholics and Republicans who work with their state GOP party and it ain't pretty.

The abortion ruling has completely fucked even moderate republicans running in some states, to the point where good candidates are dropping out instead of running to lose. GOP donors are at each other's throats, and I fully expect a 2024 GOP primary that has 20+ candidates with at least half of them solo funded by a single billionaire.

If this continues we'll see more conspiratorial maga candidates continue to win in red states and then lose more and more elections everywhere else.

So behind the scenes right now major GOP donors are planning a path out of Trump/MAGA world and folks like De Santis who were waiting in the wings are being cut off even before they announce their candidacy. So any dirt these GOP donors have on each other is going to be coming out.

Luckily Dems are seeing their chance and moving back to the left now that Republicans have no choice but to vote for them or a fascist. :Borat-Not:

I'd heard the word "trammel" before, but never with enough context to tell what it meant.

      trammel (plural trammels)

      1. Whatever impedes activity, progress, or freedom, such as a net or shackle.

It's a shame they don't publish telephone books anymore because I would order one from Salt Lake City and amuse myself for days laughing at Mormon names.

It is important to recognize that, while accusations can be made, nothing is proven until the legal process has concluded. Wealthy individuals and celebrities are often targeted by lawsuits to garner publicity. Whether Crow was involved or not has yet to be established.

Why would you say this? Implying that when a nonceleb is sued we should just assume they are guilty and culpable, are they?

“Important to recognize we are saying what our lawyers instructed to avoid a libel lawsuit brought by a litigious billionaire.” But also yes your questions are valid and we should make people think about how selectively we apply ‘innocent until proven guilty’ in this country
