The new Agitator system brings history to life with over 60 new real world characters fighting for their beliefs in your nation. From the fiery American abolitionist John Brown to the German Socialist Rosa Luxembourg and the determined Italian nation-builder Giuseppe Mazzini, famous historical figures may appear in your country to build their own power base and promote changes to help or hinder your current plans

    :lets-fucking-go: :JB-shining-aggro:

Co-opt Agitators into your state by appointing them leaders of an interest group or letting them command troops. Or, if you prefer, exile the troublemakers who are wrecking your stable country. You can even invite other people’s exiles to promote their agendas in your more welcoming society, potentially giving you a leg up in pushing advanced reforms

Communist America crushing the reactionaries by the hand of Field Marshall John Brown

uggggh i hate that paradox games have become alt-historical fantasy wish fullfillment simulators but they are!!

Paradox definitely found their niche lol

I think late capitalist realism has everyone desperate to remind themselves that our history isn't overdetermined, and that change is possible. Tbh paradox games aren't a bad way to deal with that urge considering the chuds are turning to shit like Qanon to get that same psychic hit. Or NAFO dorks who think cheerleading for war will restore meaning to their soulless western lifestyles.

Vic 3 is infinitely better in this regard than HoI4, which is effectively a "here's how Germany could have won" simulator for pea-brained fascists.

Idk about that. Staging the Italian Revolution, yeeting Mussolini 7-8 years early and liberating all of continental Europe along with my Soviet comrades was pretty wish-fulfillment-y.

Granted, it's all abstract for non-military aspects of the world so V3 wins out in that regard. Some mods add more flavor (via walls of text a la TNO) so there is something unique about Hoi4.

I'm excited about this because I've been hoping for some ability for imperialist nations to more realistically enact anticommunism by funding agitators. Don't get me wrong, I love making a huge socialist country too, but it's just too effective right now, even after Paradox nerfed a bunch of it. This pack could show what the real life detriment of running a socialist country is, which is outside imperialist nations sanctioning you and funding internal rebellion.

I'm hoping we get some reactionaries like Ernst Röhm or I don't know, Frederick Townsend Ward so I can steamroll them.

If they're :LIB: they will have both sides of that and find some way to wedge in :libertarian-approaching: vampires as "the other revolutionaries."

While im pretty sure there will be reactionary agitators in the game I doubt they will be very good. Like you can totally play a regressive trad. nation in Vicky 3.....its just pretty bad. I cant think of any game that makes you hate landowners more than Vicky 3. Conservative forces are literally the enemy of all progress in this game. (and in reality as well but Its good to have a game that shows it to liberals or "non" political people)

That depiction was horrible and they made him seem like a naive pacifist. There's even a line in his in-game bio saying his modern adherents are coffee shop hipsters

Victoria 2 has 10, but Stellaris has 21. So expect a lot.

and it is barely a game if you don't own like at least most major dlcs, which is why they have now a subscription model built in to the game

Paradox games work off a weird quasi-MMO model where they release a base game and then continue to actively support it for a decade by pumping out expansions and content packs. The upside is that a game you bought in 2015 still feels fresh and exciting, the downside is that you if you start playing in 2023 instead of 2015 you have to drop like $200 to have a proper game.

Well in either case you're dropping $200 for a game right, it's just spread out for the ones who bought it in 2015

like the guy who is playing it since 2015 probably spent more on it over all, kinda like fighting games are generally at their worse value on release as they generally make definite editions later on with the dlc bundled

That's kind of misleading. V2 had 10 but only two "big ones" that you needed else the game was a complete wreck.

(That said, the ACW tracks go so hard so I consider them essential :john-brown:)

I hate that i bought this fucking game because I didn't want to wait for the patch with the autonomous investment pool actually working to get put on the ol piracy site because now I either get to keep pirating it anyway or pay 1000000 ffucking dollars to actually complete the game

This shouldn't be a fucking DLC THIS SHOULD BE IN THE FUCKING BASE GAME

Just pirate the full game including DLCs. If you also have the game installed on steam (only base game required), any workshop mods you add will appear on the cracked version

I remember doing this with Monster Hunter World on Steam. Something called like CreamAPI or something unlocked all the dlc on your account and still allowed online play without getting banned
