:melon-musk: was told many times by lead engineers in the program that a flame diverter and full deluge system would be necessary and he fired them for being 'too traditional'. Now the program is going to waste time and resources having learned a lesson they didn't need to learn by reinventing the wheel (that yes, the largest launch system in history is going to need something to manage all of the pressure generated by those engines at launch). I don't have high expectations for their 'water cooled steel plate' diverter, probably a good chance it will be flinging up steel fragments instead of concrete next time, and that's after all of the time they'll be spending cleaning up this mess. I think a year is a bit pessimistic though, I'd wager closer to about 6-8 months until they fly again.

Lmao bro is just playing with rockets like they’re toys because he has so much wealth

There’s been a lot of talk on this site lately about neurodivergence and Elon claims to be autistic. What’s funny though is that autism and sociopath are sometimes misconstrued because of a surface level understanding. His actions prove that he’s almost certainly the latter

We can't even get a cool megalomaniac billionaire building giant robots to fight in arena pits, it's rockets an old hat that's already been done.

It's a feedback loop. Not giving a shit about anyone or anything except yourself is a prerequisite for becoming a centibillionaire, and then getting all that money reinforces the idea that what you're doing is good and right.

Said it the other day but if you wrote :melon-musk: in a dystopian cyberpunk novel and didn't embellish anything critics would pan the book for it being unbelievable.

Imagine if each earth of the multiverse had the option of watching a live stream of all the other earths. I think ours would rate pretty highly.

And we'd be glued to the channels with the giant asteroid headed right for earth. Why can't that be us?

I want to watch the Earth where Alf is still on television and is eating feral cats in PSAs.

Maybe the engineers misunderstood what "our goal is just to clear the launchpad" meant

The engineers have to stand up and clap because they'll be fired if they don't.

We all just watched an American's idea of a North Korean missile launch in real time.
