Lots of people here would like the series though -- tons of anticapitalist themes throughout, fun gameplay that's different from soulsborne stuff, but scratches the same basic itch, etc
As the guy says in the video though, getting the older games is needlessly difficult if you don't go the emulator route, and something I'm hoping for with 6 is that it leads to re-releases of the older titles as well (once again pirates have been doing most of the work of content preservation, God bless them).
I want to like AC but I remember playing one of the PS2 ones and finding it SUPER difficult. But, I will still absolutely give this one a go!
I never played any of the sequels but I loved the original. I had a lot of hours in Mechwarrior games before it came out and it really scratches the giant mech combat itch.
hadn't thought about mechwarrior in years and youtube has been suggesting mechwarrior soundtrack videos to me lately, really puts me back in a place and mindset
Mechwarrior 5 with mods is really good, without mods it’s okay but gets stale
The turn based Battletech is fun too
I mostly remember being awed by the Ghost Bear's Legacy intro cinematic where the Kodiak bursts out of the ice in front of a Raven and constantly overheating because I used as many large lasers and PPCs as possible.
So stoked for this game. I love the customization in 5 and the multilayer way so fun.

Did you play Daemon X Machina? It's an ACish copycat from a few years ago - originally launched on nintendo switch so it'll probably run on a broader range of hardware.
AC6's getting a PS4 port, as of now anyway, so I can't imagine it'll be that resource-hungry. Fromsoft is thankfully resisting the western AAA trend of making your games as visually expensive as fuck.
You know anyone who bought a new console but has an old Xbox One / PS4 lying around? They might let you borrow the old console to play AC6.
I haven't played the series since the first one, but I remember loving it and then being weirded out playing Demon Souls in like 2010 thinking "wow, this is the Armored Core people?"
